What we did during this lesson:
- Learn our first dance to a 'We will Rock You' dance
- Continued our Faultline routine, breaking up into different groups and creating different routines to be added to the overall performance
We Will Rock you
What went well-
- I had missed the previous lesson when the class originally learnt the routine, so I felt that I was successful in catching up, despite the lack of time spent going over what the class already knew (understandably). However, some of the movements were hand based (makes us cry), and I found that i frequently got confused with which hand was doing what, something that I improved on and developed during the second lesson.
- I really enjoyed the energy of the song, and felt I was able to contribute to this through sharp, big, in-time movements.
What I can do to improve:
- Whilst one of my strengths was learning the routine, I still feel I am not fully to grips with it yet, and so I would like to practice this more so that I can concentrate with learning the lyrics and melody.
Faultline
What went well-
-I really thought I threw myself into things that I was earlier apprehensive about, for example the slides and rolls, to the extent that when we were to make up our own routines, these movements were something I could confidently and fluidly put into our dance. For example in the duo with Charlotte where we go from a roll to a slide, mirroring each others movements
What I could do to improve
-General blocking was something I struggled with, whilst I knew the routines separately, when they were all put together in the song, I easily forgot where the routines fitted in, and where a bouts on stage I was supposed to be, for example when I join charlotte on stage for the duos.
