Unit 50 - Friday the 07/04, Wings of a Dove, Opening dance, and Driving in my car

Wings of a Dove:
During this part of the lesson I caught up on the routine, learning what I had missed and getting the structure down. This went well, as I was able to watch Charlotte and Lois do it, whilst Nathan and I watched and tried to copy- an element of double cast that made dance easier, Having said this, I didn't get to rehearse it as much as i wanted as we had to make sure the second cast knew it too. In terms of the video, whilst I know the moves, my focus was getting them right, rather than performing them in a stylised way. For next time I need to incorporate facial expressions, energy and character swell as communicating with Joe during the dance.

Choreographing Driving in my car:
This was an activity that I was able to offer a fair amount of input to, as Sarah dent have any lines in the song, I was able to focus on others. I had ideas which bought the piece to life, for example the comedy aspects whereby Harry falls out the car (adding levels)
Another idea I contributed was the interaction between Sarah and Joe, reflecting they're characters Joe;s recklessness by only having 1 hand on the wheel, and looking at Sarah, whereas she is getting him to look at the road with two hands on the wheel showing her caring, concerned attitude.

Opening Sequence:
This mostly involves reacting to the scenes in the middle, but we put together some steps of a dance that we can all do to give a uniform look, no distracting from centre stage. Charlotte and I were fairly fast to learn this dance, but we struggled with the structure of it, as a couple of the move (e.g. sliding to the right and spinning me in) are repeated, and so it can be confusing as to where we are. Fixing this will come with familiarity of the piece, and just by practicing it more and in the context of the scene.
