This was suggested as a group dance for the whole class to break up the smaller performances. I think this would work as something to add variety (all pun intended) to the show, as most performances will be in pairs, and of musical essence, breaking it up with a dance piece as a whole keeps the audience interested. Furthermore, we could put this at the end of the show to bring everything together, rather than one act closing the show. In terms of development of this act, we need to achieve a few criteria to bring it together:
- finding a clear leader when learning the dance so that we all learn the same thing
- getting a clear formation of a triangle so that it doesn't look messy
- deciding on who will actually feature in the dance, so that we can affirm the formation
- coordinating the costume and set design for the dance
- finalising the structure of the dance, as i'm not sure we're doing the whole thing.
HEAL OVER
Whilst looking for a new cover to do on my personal Instagram, I came across a guitar based track by KT Tunstall. It has a lower harmony, and lots of potential for a variety (all pun intended) of arrangements, from a reggae, to a slow ballad pop to a summary happy vibe.
In this rehearsal we looked at learning the harmonies, switching up the parts for who had the harmony and melody.
Watching the video was the most helpful part of the process as it showed us what work we needed to put in, for example of tuning on the harmonies, and the arrangement for the bridge
